How to Park for Free at Rhode Island Beaches
Looking for free parking at Rhode Island state beaches? Here's when it will happen.
The 30th Annual Governor's Bay Day is Sunday, July 29, and that means parking at all state beaches will be totally free!
Beaches you can hit up for free that day include:
Charlestown Breachway, Charlestown, RI
East Beach, Charlestown, RI
East Matunuck State Beach, South Kingstown, RI
Misquamicut State Beach, Westerly, RI
Roger W. Wheeler State Beach, Narragansett, RI
Salty Brine State Beach, Narragansett, RI
Scarborough State Beaches (North and South), Narragansett, RI
Bus service to these beaches will also be free, and people will be allowed to fish in Rhode Island's salt waters without a license for the one day as well.
And if that wasn't enough free outdoor fun, there are family-friendly activities planned at parks across the state.
If the beach isn't exactly your thing, you can still join in the fun at Colt State Park in Bristol and Rocky Point State Park in Warwick for some non-sandy fun.
All in all, the day is about getting out and exploring all that Rhode Island has to offer.
As Governor Raimondo said about Bay Day,
Some of the best fishing, hiking and boating are in our backyard. I am hopeful many people can take advantage of this time and relax with family and friends.
So get out and take advantage on Sunday July 29 across Rhode Island.
