If you're planning on heading down to the beach today, here's a few things you need to know.

All week long, Horseneck Beach (and some other area beaches) have been issuing red flag warnings due to high surf and riptides. Today, Horseneck Beach will be closed to swimmers due to the double red flag warning.

The beach itself is still open, as are the facilities like the bathrooms and showers. So you can certainly still go down for a walk on the beach or to check out the crazy surf. Lifeguards will be on the beach to supervise.

MA DCR officials are checking the rip currents and surf conditions each day to decide on whether or not the beach will be open for swimming.
