Hollywood Visits Rochester

Did you see film crews set up around Rounseville Road in Rochester yesterday and wonder what was going on? Well according to The Wanderer and a Los Angeles film crewmember, they were filming some driving scenes in the area for the film “Joy,” starring Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence.

The Wanderer received a tip that the filming was taking place, but was denied access upon arrival at the scene and little information was provided. When asked if the actors were here in Rochester for filming, the crewmember present would not confirm it.

In the David O. Russell directed film, Lawrence plays Joy Mangano, a single mom turned home shopping queen, who inventor of the ‘Magic Mop,’ with De Niro playing her father. Cooper plays an executive with the Home Shopping Network. The 20^th Century Fox movie, is slated for release on December 25, 2015.
