Halsey’s Haunting New Movie to Play in Boston For One Night Only
Halsey is not holding back in 2021. Not only has she had a baby and prepped for the upcoming release of her fourth album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, but Halsey has also somehow made time to create a haunting film of the same name that will hit theaters across the world for just one night later this month.
If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (the film experience) debuts August 25, two days before the singer is set to release her new album. The trailer states that the film follows "the lifelong social labyrinth of sexuality and birth," and from the clips we're seeing, this experience appears both haunting and beautiful at the same time. Plus, if the trailer (and the film's release date) are any indication, it seems like we could be hearing at least some of Halsey's new music before the album officially drops. Regardless, it's safe to say we're already obsessed with whatever is about to unfold during this Halsey moment.
If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power will have a run-time of 53 minutes and will only be available on August 25 at a select number of IMAX theaters, including just two in Massachusetts. The AMC Boston Common 19 is offering an 8 p.m. and a 10 p.m. showing, while the AMC Methuen 20 is only offering an 8 p.m. showing.
Although your kids may love Halsey – I mean, who could blame them? – this may be an experience you'll want to leave them at home for. The film is rated NR, and the website warns potential viewers that it "contains graphic nudity, some sexual content, bloody images, violence and language."
Halsey has been quite the busy lady lately, from promoting her new film and album to caring for her newborn son, Ender Ridley Aydin, who was born on July 14.
