Grandmother Has Thanksgiving Dinner With Teen She Invited Accidentally

A woman texted the wrong person an invite to Thanksgiving, but had him come get a plate anyway!

Wanda Dench was just trying to get all the Thanksgiving plans to her grandsons when she found out she was texting someone else entirely. She wasn't texting her grandson, she was texting with 17-year-old Jamal Hinton.

After they realized the mistake Jamal asked Wanda if he could "Still get a plate?" In typical grandmother form, Wanda responded with, “Of course you can. That’s what grandmas do.”

A friend of Hinton tweeted out the conversation:

Jamal took Wanda up on her offer and actually showed up and ate with her and her family on Thanksgiving!

He said, “I’m thankful for all the nice people in the world,” he said. “I never met her … and she welcomed me into her house, so that shows me how great of a person she is.”

If that's not a feel good Turkey Day tale, I don't know what is!
