We are so happy to bring back one of our favorite charity programs here at Fun 107.

Food For Tots returns Thursday, April 13.  This year, we are back in full swing. We have partnered with some of the very best restaurants on the SouthCoast to help the Friends of Jack Foundation.

The best part of this program is how easy it is to participate and help the Friends of Jack. All you have to do is show up at one of our participating restaurants, then eat, drink and have fun. That's it. You don't have to say anything or bring anything to the restaurant. Just eat.

A portion of the day's sales goes directly to the Friends of Jack Foundation, a local charity that aims to make the best in healthcare available and accessible to all children on the SouthCoast, regardless of their families' ability to pay.

Friends of Jack focuses on the whole child including their physical and mental well-being. The foundation brings Power Wheels Jeeps to local hospitals for children to drive to the operating room before surgery. Children in emergency departments are given stuffed bears to help reduce anxiety and sadness. The foundation pays many salaries of child life specialists all over the SouthCoast.  These incredible people act as a liaison between the children and the doctors and nurses.

Here are this month's Food For Tots locations:

  •  Barrett's Alehouse and Barrett's Waterfront on Fall River
  • Bocca in Fairhaven
  • Tropical Smoothie Cafe in New Bedford and Fairhaven
  • Uncle Jon's in Marion and Mattapoisett

Vermette Corp. will match all donations made by the restaurants.
