Police departments across the Southcoast have been recipients of acts of kindness since the deadly Dallas ambush last week.

In just one example, Dartmouth Police Detective Kyle Costa says over the weekend, five-year-old Braylon Resendes, along with his mother, delivered pizza and handmade gifts to Dartmouth Police. Braylon, who wants to be a police officer when he grows up, also delivered a message saying "Thank you for keeping me safe from the monsters and bad guys."

Detective Costa says Dartmouth Police have received an overwhelming amount of support and gratitude from the community in the wake of the Dallas shootings. He says "Words cannot begin to describe how appreciative" the members of the Dartmouth Police Department are.

Police departments in New Bedford, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, and other area communities have also reported receiving gifts of food and messages of gratitude from residents in light of the recent events.
