The loss of K9 Officer Sean Gannon has been felt nationwide, but really hit close to home on the Southcoast. Support for police officers has been flooding our newsfeed for weeks.

A Dartmouth Police Officer was recently a recipient of a small act of kindness that speaks volumes. The Dartmouth Police Department posted about it on Facebook.

"During his shift last night, Officer Vic Morency was approached by a woman who wished to remain anonymous. After conveying her support for law enforcement, the woman presented Vic with a gift card in memory of Officer Sean Gannon."

A Dunkin Donuts gift card. So simple. Doesn't matter if there's $5 or $50 on it. The fact that the woman went out of her way to show her support for officers who are mourning the loss of their fallen brother is outstanding.

DPD told WBSM "We are honored that Sean Gannon's memory serves as a reminder to all that police officers are ordinary people doing an extraordinary job, and that the only true way to be successful in completing that job, is by working together with the members of the community."
