Fall River man finds a grenade in his yard

A home owner in Fall River was outside doing some yard work this afteroon around Three thirty and found what looked like an old hand grenade in his yard. That resulted in the Police and Fire Department racing to his house. Not to mention a member of the Bomb squad who investigated and took custody of the device.

All the police activity caused drivers to be redirected away from Rock and Pearce street's and residents of the quiet Fall River neighborhood to stay indoors until police could identify and secure the device.

The Herald News reports that Police and Fire crews determined the device to be a World War II-era “pineapple-style” grenade. It is unkown how dangerous the device could be, but authorities state they treat all situations like todays as a threat untill proven otherwise.

This make me not want to do yard work .
