It was only on the market for about two months, and now the Lizzie Borden murder house is just about officially sold – and to the perfect buyer, it seems.

The Fall River Licensing Board voted unanimously on Wednesday, March 24 to grant Lance Zaal of U.S. Ghost Adventures both a lodging house and common victualler license for the property (the latter license is for preparing and serving food).

U.S. Ghost Adventures reportedly hasn't closed the sale yet but is under agreement to purchase the 1845 home, and the company aims to keep the bed and breakfast operating as it has since 1996 when it first opened to the public.

That's good news for anyone worried about the historic home's future, and even better news for ghost enthusiasts.

U.S. Ghost Adventures operates ghost tours in 33 cities across the U.S. and just keeps adding more.

With the addition of the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast, the company is holding a giveaway to celebrate.

Sure, you only have to drive to Fall River to enjoy a night inside the house where Lizzie Borden allegedly murdered her father and stepmother with an ax, but winning the overnight would make it that much better – and creepier.

U.S. Ghost Adventures wants to hook one lucky winner up with a two-night stay for two guests plus $500 for travel expenses – or Lizzie Borden swag for local winners since they wouldn't need to travel far.

And if you are looking for more ghostly getaways with a historical focus, U.S. Ghost Adventures has ghost tours coming to both Newport, Rhode Island, and Nantucket, Massachusetts very soon.

Plus they of course have ghost tours running all year round in Salem and Boston, and lots of other tours across the country.

Maybe Borden's Maplecroft home will also be added to the ghost tour list, too. If you ask me, it is the nicer of Lizzie's two former homes in the area.
