FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Colorado man was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 195 in Fall River on Thursday morning.

According to Massachusetts State Police, troopers responded to a reported crash at about 11:38 a.m. on October 26 involving a Toyota Corolla and a Jeep Renegade SUV that resulted in the death of the Toyota’s driver.

State police said that the preliminary investigation indicates that the Toyota was traveling westbound on I-195 near the 14.6 mile marker, and for reasons still under investigation, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended the Jeep.

The Corolla then veered into the median and crashed into a tree.

According to state police, the driver of the Toyota, a Colorado man, sustained severe injuries and was determined to be deceased at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
