Fall River Woman Struck and Killed By Vehicle

FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Fall River woman was struck and killed by a motor vehicle in the city on Friday night.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said Fall River Police were called to 278 President Avenue at about 9:06 p.m. on August 16 for a reported motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash.

The deceased pedestrian was identified as Donalda Ferreira, 62, of Fall River. The D.A.’s Office said she was struck in the roadway by a Chevy Sonic being operated by a 42-year-old woman.

The D.A.’s Office said the driver of the Sonic remained on the scene, was not impaired and was interviewed by police, but was not arrested.

The investigation remains ongoing and will include an accident reconstruction.
