Before you get your hopes up, however, Dartmouth AMC theaters will NOT be hosting the mega-marathon. I reached out to an employee over at the Dartmouth Mall location and she has confirmed with Fun 107 that the local theater is not participating in the event.

It would have been clutch to be able to go locally, because of the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker coming out in late December. This would be a great way to get audiences in the mood for and excited about the upcoming film.

Although this screening won't be anywhere near here, the event will be 27 hours and will include the new film. For those of you who don't have this even at your local AMC, the first seven episodes of the Star Wars saga will be available on the streaming service Disney+, which will be launching on November 12. People with this service can get the same effect of the mega-marathon in the comfort of their own homes.

Showings of this event at AMC start on Wednesday, Dec. 18, with the new movie showing at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, an hour earlier than the first individual showing. Again, only at participating theaters (not here in Dartmouth).

It is speculated that the spin-offs Rogue One and Solo are being left out of the marathon since they are not officially considered episodic installments.

What a way to relive the Star Wars series before fully immersing yourself into the new movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

It's a shame we can't experience it here on the SouthCoast.
