President Barack Obama will not be coming to Rhode Island today.According to the New York Times, the President canceled his trip scheduled for today to  stay at the White House overseeing the government's handling of the Ebola crisis.

Mr. Obama had an economic-themed speech planned for his visit to Rhode Island College, followed by a trip to New York to help raise money for Democrats in next month's midterm elections.

As more cases of Ebola break out in America, the thought of an epidemic has sparked fear in the public despite reassurance from many medical officials. White House officials say they plan to release more details about President Obama's activities during meetings today later.
