Double Arm Transplant Recipient from Brigham and Women’s
31-year-old John Peck lost his arms and legs in 2010 after stepping on an explosive device as a marine in Afghanistan. After a 14-hour double arm transplant at Brigham and Women's back in August, Peck recently held a press conference to debut his new arms. It was his chance to express how grateful he was for this second chance. Maybe now he can fulfill his dream of becoming a chef!
ABC reports that this is the "fourth double arm transplant the team at Brigham and Women's Hospital has ever performed."
