Dog Injured In Acushnet Home Burglary

Having your home robbed is bad enough, but knowing the burglars beat up your dog just seems to add insult to injury.

Police say a home on Main St in Acushnet was burgled this morning and the family dog got injured in the robbery.

According to the Standard Times, the house at 1163 Main St was robbed while the family was away earlier today.

Jewelry, laptops, old cell phones, and other items totaling around $3,000 were taken from the home based on what the victims were reporting.

There was forcible entry and the house was ransacked. The family's Maltese was also beaten by the robbers, though did not appear to be seriously hurt according to police.

The incident is currently under investigation and anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious in that area earlier today is urged to contact Acushnet Police at 508-98-0240.
