When it comes to pets, one of the toughest things to hear is when a family cannot care for one any longer. A pet's life is upended through no fault of its own, and then it is tumultuously thrown into an unfamiliar and sometimes scary animal shelter.

Don't get me wrong. The people running animal shelters are among the kindest on earth, but if you were a dog or a cat I'd imagine it is a pretty upsetting event to be removed from your family and suddenly live your life in a shelter. What a radical change.

Thankfully, there are so many shelters, such as Forever Paws in Fall River, which help to place dogs and cats with families here on the SouthCoast. They team up with us each week to spotlight one of their sheltered animals on Fun 107 and Fun107.com.

Today's animal is a 3-year-old mixed-breed dog named Krypto.

This big, handsome goofball is looking for his new home. Previously, Krypto had only lived with one family, and they were heartbroken when they had to surrender him because of a change in location. Krypto is very nervous at first but warms up once he gets to know you better.

Forever Paws tells Fun 107 that they have been easing Krypto into meeting new people, and they feel he is ready for adoption.

Ideally, Krypto's new family will have no small children and will own their home, and his new owners will live a relatively quiet lifestyle. It's a bonus if Krypto's new owners have experience with big dogs.

Anyone interested in adopting Krypto should reach out to Forever Paws.
