I'm not one to get spooked...but I heard the strangest noise in Westport last night as I tried to go to sleep.

I was laying in bed around 9, wide awake, worrying about sleeping through my 4 a.m. alarm, when I started to hear something that sounded seriously strange. The sound was definitely coming from outside and sounded sort of like an airplane flying overheard but not exactly...It was more like a hum or vibration. I thought maybe it was a car or a truck off in the distance, but after 4 or 5 minutes, it was still CONSTANT.

It wasn't getting louder or softer, wasn't changing frequency or sound. By that point, I actually started to feel sick - like the queasy feeling you get when you're on an airplane taking off or landing or from your ears being blocked. The noise lasted for upwards of 15-20 minutes before it finally stopped.

I admittedly didn't get out of bed to see if there was anything amiss, but I do know it was something I've never heard before.

Michael and Gazelle both (jokingly) said I must have been abducted by aliens. But then Kristen from Dartmouth called in and said both her and her son heard something similar within the last few days - so I don't feel so crazy.
