DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — Giddy up for the Dartmouth Mall’s newest store, as Boot Barn is saddling up to bring Western wear to the SouthCoast.

What Is Boot Barn?

The mall announced today that Boot Barn is set to open a nearly 15,000 square foot store this fall behind Burlington at the east end of the mall. Boot Barn offers “the broadest selection of cowboy boots, work boots, western wear, workwear, western-inspired fashion and outdoor gear,” according to the retail chain’s website.

The nearest other Boot Barn locations are in Attleboro, MA or Warwick, Rhode Island.

Boot Barn began with a single store in 1978 and has grown to become “the largest western and work wear retailer in the nation,” according to its site.

“We say that our customers feed America, build America, and protect America,” according to Boot Barn.

Boot Barn Focuses on the Local Community

It also sponsors over 600 rodeos and local community events across the country, which will fit in nicely with the New England Rodeo’s recent move to Rochester.

Dartmouth Mall’s Strategy for Growth

“The success of new-to-market tenants like Burlington, ALDI and ULTA demonstrate strong demand for this type of retail experience in our market,” said Sean Linehan, Vice President of Leasing for PREIT, which owns the Dartmouth Mall. “Adding Boot Barn as the region’s first location will only solidify our position as the destination of choice in the region, helping to cement our commitment to our customers of bringing fresh concepts to their market.”

Thanks to artificial intelligence and advances in 3D mapping, Google Maps is slowly rolling out a new feature called immersive view, allowing users to go inside buildings. It looks like Dartmouth Mall is one of the first places in the area to use the new technology, thanks to images from 2017.
