Smashing New Experience Available at Dartmouth’s House of Rage
I took an axe to a car window and smashed it to bits, and it felt amazing.
House of Rage in Dartmouth has become known for its rage rooms and “drip zone”, and now, they look to expand further with car smashes.
Whether it’s a private event or at House of Rage, Van Rodriguez and Katarina Cidade will provide the car and you provide the rage.
What Is House of Rage?
Van Roriguez and Katarina Cidade opened House of Rage in February of 2022 and introduced the SouthCoast to controlled violence.
Equipped with fully reinforced walls, personal protective equipment, and choices of different tools, House of Rage encourages you to let out some anger or just have some fun. Connect a Bluetooth device to set the soundtrack to your experience, rage on a bundle of breakables in the room, or even bring your own breakables to destroy.
In addition to the rage room, the Drip Zone is a splatter paint room where all surfaces are game to express your creative side. Throw the paint, splatter it on the walls, or go crazy on a canvas. There are no rules.
“We have different items like our paint gun blaster, throwable paintballs, and a drum set that you can pour paint on, Blue Man Group style,” said Cidade. “Paint and go wild, and we’ll clean up the mess for you.”

House of Rage Is Going Mobile
With each new year, Rodriguez and Cidade aim to expand the vision for their business.
“Every year, we look to do more events and get involved with the community,” said Rodriguez. “We work with UMass Dartmouth and set up a mobile room for students…we hope to bring a car there soon.”
Car smashing is the latest venture for House of Rage.
With the help of a local towing service, House of Rage gets beaten down cars before they go to the junkyard and set them up for a smashing good time.
“We have gotten a lot of requests for bachelor and bachelorette parties,” said Rodriguez.
There’s nothing like letting off some steam before you say, “I do.”
I had my first car smash experience over the weekend and it was worth every second.
There is something empowering about holding an axe and swinging away on a car.
Car smashing is available for public events, private events, or at House of Rage at 832 State Road.
“We want to bring the party to the people,” said Rodriguez.
There is no other experience like it. Embrace your wild side with House of Rage’s newest offering.
