Cafe Arpeggio Opening New Dartmouth Location With Later Hours
Dartmouth residents and UMass Dartmouth students will soon have a new local café to look forward to. Café Arpeggio, the beloved New Bedford coffee shop known for its sandwiches, pastries, smoothies and specialty coffee drinks, is preparing to open its second location in Dartmouth in January 2026.
New Location to Serve the Same Favorites
General Manager Ally Jardin, who will oversee both locations, said the Dartmouth café will feature the full menu that regulars know well. That includes the shop’s best-selling chipotle turkey and bacon turkey cheddar melts, its popular acai bowls, and a wide variety of coffee flavors.
“We’ll have the same menu and the same great coffee,” Jardin said. “We’re also planning to introduce more specials because we’re anticipating high volume.”
Designed With UMass Dartmouth Students in Mind
One major difference at the new location will be extended hours. While the New Bedford shop closes earlier, the Dartmouth café plans to stay open later into the evening. According to Michael Panagakos, the new Cafe Arpeggio will be housed in one of his commercial properties, located at 385 State Road in Dartmouth. It is located next to Ayur Shri on Route 6.
“We really want to target UMass students, so we’re looking at being open until around 9 or 10 p.m.,” Jardin explained, noting that the final schedule is still being determined.
Convenient Pickup Window for Mobile Orders
The new café will also feature a pickup window for mobile and online orders, offering quick grab-and-go convenience on busy days. It's not a drive-thru, but the pickup window will be especially helpful for students and commuters.
Café Arpeggio Continues to Grow
This new location is not a replacement, but a full addition to the business. The café will hire new staff and bring several long-time team members to help train and support the Dartmouth crew.
If you’ve never visited Café Arpeggio before, Jardin recommends the perfect first-timer combo: “Get a sandwich, a coffee, and a pastry. That way you can try a little of everything," she said.
