Dartmouth Boys’ ‘Cause for Paws’ Lemonade Stand to Help Rescues

This is a story about two kids whose love for their dog motivated them to want to give back.

Over in Dartmouth, nine-year old Lincoln and his brother, five-year old Everett, can be spotted on the side of the road with a little lemonade stand. Not too long ago, the McGoff family went up to the North Shore area to adopt a dog they saw online from the Great Dog Rescue of New England. From that day on, Ivy, their rescue dog, has been by the brothers' collective side and a loving member of the family.

For years, the kids wanted to have their very own lemonade stand and in 2021 it's now a reality. If you drive by the corner of Fisher Road and Cedar Dell Way, you'll see a bright, colorful sign that reads "Ivy's Lemonade," named after their dog.

"The boys are selling original lemonade, pink lemonade, and even giving out milk bones for all dog visitors," the boys' mother, Nina McGoff said. "We've only had one dog customer so far, but we're hoping for more. We love seeing the dogs."

The McGoffs borrowed the milk bone idea from their bank and wanted to incorporate it into their stand. The brothers' goal was to be able to buy a new video game and the rest of the proceeds will go back to the Great Dog Rescue of New England. They started on Tuesday, and have been working every day except Thursday due to the rain.

"I'm so proud of how hard they're working," McGoff said. "They’re flagging cars down and they’re making it freshly-squeezed all on their own."

The boys will be finishing up their business on Saturday from 12-2 p.m., so if you're in the area, stop by and help these kids support the shelter that brought joy into their lives. As a thank you, all community helpers and postal carriers get free lemonade.
