Christine’s Monday Entertainment Update on The Rock and Fox Show
There was a little bit of everything in todays Entertainment Update this morning and a whole lotta Taylor Swift and Katie Perry Happy Meal feels.
We can start with this weird story out of the West Coast; O.J. Simpson says rumors that he is Khloe Kardashian's father are bogus. He tweeted yesterday that he never had any interest in Kris Jenner, Khloe's mother. He also said he never got any indication that she had any interest in him. Kris's late ex-husband and Khloe's father, Robert Kardashian was one of the attorneys who successfully defended Simpson against murder charges in the deaths of the former football star's ex-wife. Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman, were murdered 25 years ago this month and 25 years ago today, OJ was pulled over after that long chase and arrested for the murder on Nicole and Ron. And we all know what happened there.
And how excited was Adele to go to the opening performance at Wembley Stadium in London to see the Spice Girls kick off their World Tour? This is her Instagram post from the other night. Yeah, like a little school girl.
And speaking of the UK, James Corden is doing his Late Late Show there all this week and he's got a little dodgeball game planned between the girls and boys. The guys are all from the UK. James of course, Harry Stiles, Sam from Game of Thrones and the dude who played Dr. Strange. The US team is made up of Michelle Obama, Melissa McCarthy, Mila Kunis, Allison Janey and Kate Hudson. Here is Michelle hyping up her team during one of their practices for the game. And it's the video I've been dying to see all weekend and it debuted on GMA this morning; Taylor Swift's latest single, You Need to Calm Down. The video was everything in so many ways. There's nobody running the game like Taylor, nobody. She crushes it with a star studded line up of video cameo's from Ellen, Katie Perry, Ciara, Ryan Reynolds, Jessie Tyler Ferguson and a bunch of others.
She tackles equality, specifically the LGBTQ community and that love is love no matter who or what people are. The video is pure happy, I love it. The very end of the video has Katie Perry in a big old hamburger costume while Taylor is french fries. The two slowly and shyly walk towards each other like little pre-teen girls trying to find the right words to say I'm sorry. It's a very cute scene and ends with them smiling, dancing and hugging. Yay, they're friends again! You Need to Calm Down (which I say out loud at least a few times every day, lol) is the second single off Taylor's upcoming Lover album, which drops August 23rd. I can't wait for it!
