Another retail chain is feeling the effects of online shopping and closing nearly 100 stores nationwide.

Clothing store Charlotte Russe has apparently fallen on tough times and filed on Monday for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

This of course means the closing of numerous retail locations as they work to make their brand profitable once again.

Nearly 100 of the companies 500 nationwide stores will be closing immediately according to the retailers.

And among those closing their doors forever are Kingston Collection, 101 Independence Mall Way, Kingston, Massachusetts, CambridgeSide Galleria, 100 CambridgeSide Place, Cambridge, Massachusetts and Tanger Outlets Foxwoods, 455 Trolley Line Blvd., Ledyard, Connecticut.

For those local fans of the Charlotte Russe brand, you are in luck. The store in the Dartmouth Mall will remain open as will the store at the Providence Place Mall.

The clothing store selling to mainly teenage and young adult females also owns the children's brand Peek Kids. That brand received $50 million in debtor-in-possession financing to help keep them operating through the bankruptcy.

No word on if more store closures will be coming in the future, but Charlotte Russe shoppers are certainly hoping they won't.
