It's been less than a week since a worker at a Central Falls, Rhode Island salon was brutally stabbed to death during a robbery.

The violence against 50-year-old Putali Kunwar was senseless, according to the owner of Sue's Salon, Ajay Seth. "It was an unnecessary killing of blood lust and murderous intent. She was very short and frail, not someone who could defend themselves against a large man. It was deeply traumatizing and mortifying for those who found her."

Seth has established a GoFundMe account to raise money for Kunwar's family.  According to the account profile, the funds raised will help cover the cost of essential needs, expenses, a mourning service, and general funds to support her husband and two children during this dramatic shift in their lives.

Community Mourns Loss of Beloved Salon Employee

Kunwar was described as “a kindhearted and devoted wife, mother, friend, and employee,” adding that “she was everything you could hope for in a person.”

Tragic Robbery Shakes Central Falls Community

According to Seth, the sudden and violent nature of the incident has deeply shaken those who knew her. Not surprisingly, Seth said the loss has been overwhelming and a real shock for her family, friends, and coworkers.

Remembering Her Impact

He remembered Kunwar as someone who brought positivity into the workplace every day, noting she was “always chipper, never complained, generous and loyal, just a gem.”

Help For Her Family

Seth is encouraging everyone and anyone to share the GoFundMe page and to give if you can, saying “each donation is an acknowledgement of support to everyone in grief and disbelief."
