Go figure. Cinco de Mayo falls on a Tuesday this year – you know, a Taco Tuesday – and we can't even celebrate in style.

The coronavirus is denying us the one Mexican-American holiday that allows you to indulge in margaritas, tacos and ironically, yes, even Corona (beer, that is).

Thanks to the quick thinking of a few local restaurants here on the SouthCoast, the fiesta isn't completely canceled and here's how they're doing their part to keep the party going with three simple words: margaritas to go.

However, it's only half of the cocktail; you have to add your own tequila at home, but at least you'll get to enjoy the signature blend and flavors from the same margarita mix your favorite local restaurants are using.

Here are some SouthCoast restaurants who are currently running the margarita mix to go promotion:

– Frontera Grill, 214 Huttleston Avenue, Fairhaven

— Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, 634 State Road, Dartmouth and 117 County Street, Somerset

– T.G.I. Friday's, 455 State Road, North Dartmouth

These are just a few examples of how restaurants have used creativity and innovation to bring in new customers and to keep bringing them back. Whether you're in the mood for a salt rim or a sugar rim, and the amount of tequila you add to your pre-made curbside mixers is completely up to you.

Take back Cinco De Mayo 2020 by celebrating with your favorite local margarita mixers to go.

Please drink responsibly, must be 21 years or older to order and consume.
