CARE Southcoast is a no-kill animal shelter located in Acushnet, committed to finding good homes for the animals under their roof. That includes cats and dogs that have disabilities.

CARE Southcoast President Ruth Marshman says the shelter depends on many community partners to help care for its animals.

Marshman visited Townsquare Sunday this week and talked about the challenges faced by the shelter's all-volunteer staff in caring for its animals, including those who require expensive medical care.

Asked how CARE Southcoast meets those challenges, Marshman says she's "not too proud to beg." Her interview can be heard here:
