One of the Dartmouth Mall's anchor stores won't be empty for very long.

On Wednesday, June 19, PREIT announced Burlington as the lead replacement for Sears at Dartmouth Mall. PREIT also says it is in discussions with other large-format retailers to complement Burlington.

Burlington is expected to open next spring, occupying 43,000 square feet. According to a press release, the store will be "offering an assortment of modern high-quality, designer and name-brand merchandise, including a large selection of coats, clothing, and shoes, as well as various home décor."

Burlington is considered an "off-price retail store," and will join Five Below as one such offering at the Dartmouth Mall. According to the release, Hollister and Shoe Show will also open in the mall later this year.

I went to Bridgewater State University and we were not allowed to have a car on campus our freshman year. Which meant that if you needed new clothes, shoes, or maybe a little something to freshen up your dorm room, you were walking to Burlington. Many trips were made to the department store and many memories were made with my friends carrying shopping bags back to the dorm. While circumstances have changed, I'm looking forward to going shopping with friends and making new memories at Burlington in Dartmouth.

The next nearest Burlington is located at 181 Mariano S Bishop Boulevard in Fall River.
