Wagstock 2025: Fun Day in E. Bridgewater to Enjoy Music, Adopt a Pup

Wagstock 2025 is not Woodstock. It's a fun day in the sun (hopefully) on Saturday, June 14 at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club, where you can enjoy music, browse craft tables, visit food vendors and adopt a pet.

Sue Furtado, founder of the WAGS Rescue League (Waiting Animals Getting Support), visited Townsquare Sunday to talk about her organization and what Wagstock 2025 is all about.

"We began this organization in 2017 when we determined there was a great need for animal rescue in this country," Furtado said. "More than 3,000 dogs per day are euthanized in the U.S., and frequently it's because of a lack of homes."

WAGS Rescue League is a foster-based operation, meaning their dogs are placed in foster homes before being relocated to their "forever" homes. Furtado said WAGS currently has 16 dogs living in foster homes, awaiting adoption.

Furtado explained that adopting a dog at WAGS is a process.

"Our adoption process includes multiple interviews with everyone who lives in the home, plus a home check, either in-person or virtually," she said. "We focus mostly on matching the right dog with the family."

Wagstock 2025 is happening June 14 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club. There is something for everyone; two bands playing from noon to 6 p.m., food, 60 craft vendors, a full bar, mediums, games for kids, volleyball and more.

Admission for those over 16 is $25 per person, and free admission for those under 16. Proceeds from the event go directly to Waiting Animals Getting Support.
