Shortly after the five-carat diamond was spotted, it was confirmed that the Spider-Man star popped the question somewhere between Christmas and New Year's. The proposal was said to be a very intimate moment between the two, held at one of Zendaya's U.S. homes.

The private proposal was one Holland had it in the works for some time. Holding true to a long-standing tradition, Holland asked his future father-in-law for his blessing, a gesture Zendaya's family appreciated, calling Tom a "class act."

Prior to getting down on one knee, Holland got in the tattoo chair. He and Zendaya visited Boston Tattoo Company back in November to get inked. Holland selected a "Z" on his rib cage and Zendaya matched her man with a "T."

Her tattoo can also be spotted in some of her Golden Globes red carpet photos – easily overlooked at first, as all eyes were on the diamond ring.
