A 107-year-old hotel in Boston has topped the Historic Hotels of America 2019 list.

If you love a little history with your overnight stays, then you really should be checking out the Historic Hotels of America site.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation program helps you find amazing hotels steeped in history across the U.S.

And for 2019, they named the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston as the Historic Hotel of the Year.

This stunning building in the heart of Back Bay was built back in 1912, but is still turning heads today.

The site noted not only the architecture but also the hotel's customer service in rating it tops.

They also love how the Fairmont features period antiques throughout the hotel and how they embrace their history even while staying modern.

Apparently the Fairmont was the first hotel in Boston to feature air-conditioning and the first to accept credit cards.

Today they have all the modern amenities travelers look for, but in an atmosphere that is bound to take you back in time.

An overnight at the Fairmont is definitely among the pricier in Boston. But staying at a hotel that has hosted U.S. presidents, royalty and celebrities over the years might be a reason to splurge next time you stay in Boston.
