Baby Boo has been canceled for Halloween day on Thursday, October 31. The Buttonwood Park Zoo is now holding a "Bonus" Boo at the Zoo day on Saturday, November 2 from 10 am to 5 pm. This will include the Baby Boo costume contest for all ages.

The decision came after the zoo posted a poll on their Facebook page on Tuesday, October 29, asking the public to decide the fate of the event with forecasts for some serious weather ahead of us.

"We need your feedback! Baby BOO is scheduled for Thursday with a forecast of a 1/2 inch of rain during the event. If we switch the event to Saturday, which has perfect weather at the moment, there will likely be more children attending and there will no longer be a costume parade, but there will be a modified costume contest. Saturday's format will be slightly different as it will be an all-ages Boo event. Are you over Halloween by Saturday? Would you like to see it stay on Thursday with unpredictable weather? Vote and let us know!"

The poll lasted for 24 hours, ending on Wednesday, October 30 with nearly 300 total votes. Only 36% of voters preferred to keep Baby Boo on Thursday while 64% chose to move Boo to Saturday.

This event will still feature up close and personal visits with some of the zoo’s animal residents.
