Bald eagles are typically elusive birds, but one lucky lady in Swansea recently spotted one out on Lees River...and you could too.

In a recent post to Facebook one Swansea resident shared photos of a bald eagle she saw on a frozen Lees River.

And though she didn't want to publicly share her pics, here's how you can get some of your own!

According to BuzzardsBay.org, bald eagles are just starting to return to the Southcoast after their brush with extinction. And though it is tough to find one, there are places close by where your chances can improve.

Lakeville, Westport, Fall River and Mattapoisett are all cities and towns on the Southcoast that the Buzzard's Bay Coalition says bald eagles have been spotted in.

In fact, they were kind enough to break down their Top 10 Places To Look For Bald Eagles in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Among those places are the Acushnet River, The Bogs and Westport Town Farm.

And though Lees River in Swansea didn't make the list...clearly the icy waters were perfect places to spot the beautiful bird for one amateur bird watcher, so maybe giving that area a try would work too.
