An Easy and Helpful Way to Score a Free Pint in Rhode Island

All month long scoring a free pint of locally brewed beer in Rhode Island has never been easier or better for the community.

You've probably heard how notoriously hard it is to get blood donations in the summertime at some point in your life. Vacations, beach days, kids out of school all make for different schedules and donating blood is not always top of mind.

But the Rhode Island Blood Center is trying to change that this month with the offer of a free pint of locally brewed beer with every pint of blood donated.

Sounds like a fair trade, a pint for a pint. And that's just what is happening at all six blood and platelet donations center in Rhode Island this August.

Your donation could get you a free pint from Whalers Brewing Company in South Kingstown, Grey Sail Brewing in Westerly, Foolproof in Pawtucket, The Guild in Pawtucket, Proclamation Ale Company in Warwick or Newport Craft Brewing Co. in Newport.

Not to mention the lives your donation could be saving.

And if the free pint hasn't swayed you to donate yet, everyone who does give blood in August will be put in a raffle for a pair of tickets to see the New England Patriots at their home opener in Gillette Stadium on Sunday September 8th.
