Tails are wagging and pet owners are revving up for the 20th Annual Pet Fest and Walk for Animals.

On May 5, the Coalition for Animals will once again be kicking off their Pet Fest to recognize the ones that make our lives happier. I'm talking about our fur babies, our pets.

This event is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Coalition, where 100 percent of the profits go towards supporting their diverse programs that benefit the health and well being of animals in our community. The walk will take place between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.

On average the Pet Walk brings in around 600 people, 400 dogs, and just over 50 vendors.

The Coalition is setting up a two-mile walk around Buttonwood Park along with a day full of fun, demos, vendors and entertainment:

  • New England Reptile Bird of Prey Show
  • New Bedford Police K-9 Demo Dog Training Demos
  • Shelters Rescue Groups Animals for Adoption Raffle
  • Free Giveaways
  • Face Painting
  • Food
  • Music
  • Contests

Twenty years strong, this event is guaranteed to be fun for the entire family, so bring your dogs, family and friends for an all-around fun time. For more information, visit CoalitionForAnimals.com where "Helping People Help Animals" is what they strive to do.
