When two New Bedford Police Officers, Donald Williams and Jared Lucas, thought up the idea of pub crawl to raise awareness for veteran suicide, neither of them expected the overall outcome.

On Sunday, June 2, hundreds of locals are predicted to join the support of Mission 22. Sadly, each day, an average of 22 U.S. veterans will commit suicide due to troubling issues.

#Mission 22 is a veteran non-profit organization with one goal: to end the war on veterans taking their own lives, simply because they can no longer deal with everyday life issues that originate from past experiences with war and combat.

The pub crawl begins at 1 p.m. at Rose Alley Ale House in the Downtown area of New Bedford, then will continue over to Slainte, Moby Dick Brewery, Pour Farm Tavern and will then finish at Greasy Luck Tavern around 5 p.m. for an after party DJ'd and hosted by yours truly. The event itself normally carries on until 7 p.m., and 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to Mission 22.

Between each stop, as the crowds leave the bar, we will gather as a group and perform 22 pushups. This will be the official finish to each bar. Above are highlights of the pub crawl from previous years with pushups included.

Gather your friends and family and join us on what could possibly be one of the largest gatherings of camaraderie Downtown will ever witness.

Tickets are $30 each for the pub crawl and include a Mission 22 T-Shirt and complimentary food at all of our hosting bars. Let's come together, make a difference, make new friends and make history as we raise awareness for the third year in a row.
