Football season is here and if you're looking to cook up something good and good for you on game day this Turkey Chili recipe is sure to hit the spot!You can cook up this healthy chili recipe on the stove or in the slow cooker, whatever works for you!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 green pepper (chopped)
  • 1 28oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 8oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 15oz can of red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 15oz can of garbanzo beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 tbsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • sprinkling of minced onion

Stove Top Directions

  1. In skillet over high heat cook meat until browned. With slotted spoon transfer cooked meat to paper towels to drain.
  2. Return meat to skillet and add green pepper, minced onion, celery salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder and cumin. cook over high heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low and add crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Uncover and stir in beans. Cook until heated through (about 6-8 minutes)

Slow Cooker Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to slow cooker, stir together and cook on high for one hour.
  2. Turn heat down to low and simmer for 6-8 hours.
