Fairhaven commuters rejoice, the new Next Gen Dunkin' has opened its doors and is ready to take your order.

Admittedly, since the Alden Road location closed its doors back towards the end of June, I have yet to get a coffee before work. It really put a halt to my morning routine, and we all remember how sad and somber that day was:

Now that this location is still close by to the radio station and opens at 4 a.m., I can now get back on track to a well-caffeinated start to the day.

Just off of Huttleston Ave between McDonald's and Staples, this Dunkin' is located at 18 Plaza Way. Yes, it is indeed only feet away from the now-vacant Alden Road location, but it's more convenient for customers to get in and out without traffic issues.

"People are going to love this store, because it's easy to get to, easy to see," owner Bill Daley says. "You're going to enjoy going through the drive-thru and in and out of the parking lot with ease."

I'll tell you this much, the new look to Dunkin' is pretty fancy and sleek-looking with a modern touch.

"We're very excited to be here with the new Next Gen image," Daley said.

Worried about the drive-thru being overcrowded now that the hype is here? Daley claims there's nothing to worry about.

"Our customers are loyal, they'll come regardless of how long the lines are," he said. "But they'll be happy to know that the lines will flow much better throughout the parking lot."

If you're unfamiliar with what new stuff Next Gen brings to the table, you have to take my word and give the Nitro Coffee a try.

"It's a nice new product served without ice, lightly carbonated and a nice change of pace for those who enjoy a cold ice coffee," Daley told me.

So if you're in the area, stop by and check out the inside or make your way through the drive-thru for a little pick-me-up before work or to simply start your day.

After all, in the words of Daley, "Fairhaven relocates on Dunkin'!"
