According to SouthcoastToday, New Bedford City Council has given the green to knock down the Ottiwell building to make way for a potential new school building to house the Alma Del Mar Charter School.

34-year-old David Frates has been charged with masked armed robbery and putting a person in fear for the purpose of stealing, after police say he held up the St. Anne's Credit Union on Acushnet Avenue last Tuesday at gunpoint.
