There will be spraying done early Friday morning to help reduce the mosquito population, and hopefully to dramatically reduce the risk of being infected with West Nile, or EEE.

This round of spraying will be in the areas of Fort Taber, Brooklawn Park, Buttonwood Park, Hazelwood Park, Riverside Park, Poor Farm Area, Walsh Field, Ashley Park, Clasky Park, Ben Rose Field, and the Industrial Area and will start at 2am on Friday morning.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health recommends that you keep windows closed on Friday morning and remove fans from your windows as well.

The New Bedford area has tested positive for EEE and West Nile and the area

was located in the Industrial Park area in the city’s North End.
