SOMERSET (WBSM) — A beloved Mexican restaurant is heading to Somerset.

Baja's Mexican Restaurant is adding a new location, making its way to Somerset on Grand Army of the Republic Highway. It will be located at 899 GAR Highway in the former Trump store building next to Smokiez Smoke Shop.

Over the years, GAR Highway has been redeveloped into a strip filled with small shopping plazas and restaurants. Its most recent addition of Starbucks is nestled alongside Jersey Mike's and Pancheros Mexican Grill in the plaza adjacent to Fairfield Inn & Suites.

With Baja's new addition, customers will have another option to satisfy their Mexican craving.

The restaurant offers a broad menu of authentic Mexican foods, from burritos to quesadillas and everything in between. It also offers salads, wraps, chicken wings and desserts.

The Mexican chain is pretty popular, having established 15 restaurants primarily throughout Rhode Island in locations such as Providence and Cranston. Somerset will be its third location in Massachusetts, in addition to Raynham and Attleboro.

SouthCoast foodies will no longer have to travel a long way out for a Baja experience. The restaurant will soon be in Somerset residents' backyards.

WBSM reached out to the company for a comment regarding Baja's opening, but we have not yet received a response.
