It’s hard to pick just one for both Massachusetts and Rhode Island, but the two winners have earned their recognition thanks to their stunning designs, desirable locations, and beautiful aesthetics.

People Magazine Choose Top 50 Most-Beautiful Restaurants

In honor of People's 50^th anniversary, the magazine recruited the help of OpenTable to crown 50 restaurants as the country’s most beautiful.

“These super-stylish stunners deliver unforgettable dining experiences,” the publication said.

So, who did they choose for our corner of the country?

The Most Beautiful Restaurant in Rhode Island

No surprise here. The most beautiful restaurant in the Ocean State can be found in Newport.

Cara offers panoramic views of the ocean and embodies European elegance. Every menu item is a culinary journey and the atmosphere is just as impressive.

“We are thrilled and honored to be chosen by People Magazine and Open Table to represent Rhode Island,” said the restaurant online.

Cara Restaurant at The Chanler in Newport is open Wednesday through Sunday, and reservations can be made online.

The Most Beautiful Restaurant in Massachusetts

A spot in Cambridge called Wusong Road gets the crown this year

“Maximalism reigns at this tiki restaurant, with thatched overhands, 1970s-era peacock chairs and tropical wallpaper,” People said.

In “The Land of Rangoons and Rum,” Wusong Road is an immersive experience. The first floor is like walking into a robust jungle and you’ll take breaks from your meal just to take in the awe-inspiring décor.

“Thank you to People and Open Table. ... We never would’ve thought our weird little space filled with dragons, parrots, and monkeys would win any beauty contest (especially in a world where minimalism and clean lines are the trend),” the restaurant said on Instagram.

Wusong Road is open Monday through Sunday and reservations can be made online.
