Believe it or not, this Westerly mansion has seen a $13 million price cut in the last year and still could end up being the most expensive home ever sold in Rhode Island.

Last summer, this 4,976-square-foot home at 8 Manatuck Ave. in Westerly was listed at $32.5 million. Now the property dubbed Sandcastle has seen a major price cut and could be yours for a mere $19.9 million.

Sure, it's still way out of my price range, but a girl can dream, can't she?

This house is certainly full of beachfront dreams. Sitting on an acre of land overlooking a long stretch of white-sand Weekapaug coastline, this six-bedroom house offers plenty of views and plenty of Ocean State history.

Built in 1930, the house still has lots of historic touches, such as handcrafted wood paneling in the front hall and first-floor sitting room or the rustic stone fireplace in the den.

The listing by Mott & Chace Sotheby's International Realty says there have been lots of revitalization in recent years, as well.

The house has an interesting back story for potential new owners. It was the property of the Archdiocese of Providence for decades and used as a summer retreat for the bishops and other leadership members.

The church sold the home in 2003 for $7 million and now the current owners are looking to nearly triple their money with the current $19.9 million asking price, a price that makes it Rhode Island's most expensive home for sale, beating out Narragansett's Sea Grace, listed several years ago for $18.2 million.

Sandcastle also has the distinction of being within walking distance of Taylor Swift's $17.75 million Holiday House, which was Rhode Island's most expensive home when it sold in 2013.
