Since I only moved back within the past year I haven't spent too much time at the famous Mirasol's Cafe. I do, however, know that it's the spot in North Dartmouth.

When I first moved back, I stood in the line that wrapped around the building and almost to Wendy's across the street for one of their signature CHiPPi drinks. Was it worth the hype and the wait? Personally, it tasted like coffee milk, so I passed on getting one the second time I visited, making me pretty much the only person on the SouthCoast that doesn't go crazy for a CHIiPPi. But they have some good food on the menu for sure.

We found out today that this sweet spot in North Dartmouth has been sold. The now-former owners, Richard Romero and his wife, have sold to an investment company, Sunflower Partners LLC, which plans to expand the business. I'm thinking this means more locations?

As far as Romero, the original owner, he will continue to be a partner and help find sites for future locations. He originally opened Mirasol's in 2006, but will be handing over day-to-day operations of the business.

And why not? He has a good thing going. If I were in his shoes, I would absolutely sell, especially when you have an investment company that wants to grow your business into something you could never have imagined. Isn't that every business owner's hope?

Maybe more locations will lessen the lines and difficult parking at the current location, since people from all over the SouthCoast are coming to their one location.

Do you think this will diminish the special local business feeling of this spot?

Where would you like to see them build another Mirasol's first?
