We just can't get this casino thing right here in Massachusetts. Not only are we over saturating the market by building more casinos than the population can handle, but now the state's gaming regulators are considering putting limits on the amount of time and money you are allowed to spend at future casinos.

According to the Associated Press, the casino companies met with the gaming commission yesterday to object to the plan that would automatically enroll gamblers, citing research that suggests "limit setting" programs don't work.

It's not clear how the program would monitor the amount of time gamblers spend at the casino or how much money they have spent, but monitoring these things seems creepy and big brother-ish to me. No thank you. I am an adult. I can decide how much I can afford to gamble and how long I want to spend doing it.

The casino companies also expressed concerns about the state offering incentives for gamers to join the program, and asked for the state to allow them to open the casinos before the plan goes into place.
