Being a parent can be hectic. Two sisters from Fairhaven want to make life a little easier with a revolutionary idea that’s coming to the Dartmouth Mall.

Did you forget an extra diaper? Did your toddler drop their binky and you forgot to pack a backup?

The Masterminds Behind Mama-mergency

Fairhaven natives Kelly and Kristy Walton are looking to make moves.

Kelly works in the film industry and Kristy works for the state, but they decided to start brainstorming on how to make passive income.

“I came across a TikTok of a girl talking about how she owns vending machines, and I thought to myself, ‘We could do that,’” said Kelly Walton.

They didn’t want it to be a typical vending machine, so they started thinking outside the box.

The Walton sisters may not be parents yet, but thanks to their many nieces, nephews, and friends with kids, they understand the headache that comes with being a parent.

“We’ve been with our friends where something happened and they needed something, and if they forgot diapers or rash cream, it’s panic mode,” said Kelly.

They leaned into that idea of helping out local parents, and soon, Mama-mergency was born.

Mama-mergency, the Vending Machine for Parents

Coming to the Dartmouth Mall on March 1st, the Mama-mergency vending machine will be filled with items like diapers, baby wipes, disposable changing sheets, plastic bottles, sippy cups, and teethers to help out busy moms and dads that may be in need.

Items will range from $2 to $7 and will be fully stocked by the sisters themselves. The sisters will be stocking the vending machine on their dime as they continue to search for potential investors.

“We wanted to put the vending machine in a place where these items aren’t easily accessible,” said Kelly. “This is our first machine, and we hope to expand to other places like zoos and airports.”

Moms and dads have a lot to take care of at all times, and the Walton sisters aim to provide an easy and affordable lifeline when needed.

“It takes a village. We can be their village,” said Kelly.

Keep an eye out for the debut of the Mama-mergency vending machine in March.
