Yesterday, we had a "Blizzard Meeting" here at Fun 107, where we discussed what the plan was going to be for staff with the upcoming storm.

We made plans to stay overnight at the Hampton Inn nearby, as well as plans to stock up on food for any staff that would be working through the storm. The task of going to the supermarket was assigned to me. I began to make a list of what everyone wanted me to pick up for them...you know, the "essentials".

From Michael Rock: Birthday Cake Oreos, Milk, Ranch Dressing, Turkey, Cheese, Doritos, Sprite.

From Larry: Chewy Chips Ahoy, Coke, Lays Salt and Vinegar Chips.

From Dan "The Newsman" McCready: Sunchips, Trail Mix.

From WBSM's Jim Phillips: Raisins, Walnuts.

From WBSM's Phil Paleologos: 2 Air Fresheners. (WTH?)

I just wanted hummus and pita chips...

I got to Stop and Stop and there were NO carriages. None.

I went looking in aisles for one, nope. I went back outside for one...not one to be found! The lines inside the store were insane and backed up down the aisles. I had to walk around the parking lot to finally find a carriage! So I trek back into the store and start loading up on the requests.

I made my way to the deli which was insanely busy, and took a number.  My number was 372, they were currently on 360. The store was so busy, it was tough to navigate around and took me about an hour to get all of the items on my list.

I finally got to the checkout and realized that the budget Michael had set of $100 was definitely about to be surpassed. I texted him to let him know and he told me to put some stuff back. I felt bad putting back some things that people had requested, but I had to! I put back the cookies, a package of sandwich buns and a few other miscellaneous things.

When it was all said and done, I spent $109.92 on "essentials". I got back to the station with the goods and made a pretty display of food, drinks and treats right on the conference room table.

We've since indulged in a lot of it and since this blizzard is much worse than we all thought it would be, I'm REALLY glad we have food!

Be safe everyone, and stay warm!
