Halloween weekend is coming up fast, so get those costumes ready and head to New Bedford for some free, family fun this Friday night.

New Bedford Parks, Recreation and Beaches are hosting a free Halloween party at the Andrea McCoy Recreation Center at 181 Hillman Street. The party starts at 6 P.M. on Friday night and there will be fun and games for all.

This all ages party is a popular annual event for the city and what parent doesn't love to get an extra night's fun out of the often crazy, expensive Halloween costumes. New Bedford's party on Friday night is a great excuse to dress up and head out.

Best yet, the party is a pretty quick event, happening from 6 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. so bedtime doesn't have to get messed with either.

There is a lot of fun is packed into those 90 minutes however. Like a costume contest, spooky games, there's candy to be handed out, prizes to be won and music playing the whole time.

No wonder this event happens again and again, it sounds like a great night out for kids of all ages.

So if you're looking for some family fun this weekend with a Halloween twist, then this party is a great way to kick things off. You can follow up this free night of fun with some princesses at Stony Creek Farm in Swansea on Saturday night and enjoy the first Spooky Stroll in Fall River on Halloween night.

Trick-or-Treat all weekend long!
