Jerry Remy will return to NESN in a reduced role.

NESN announced last night that Red Sox color guy Jerry Remy will be back in the broadcast booth.  Remy's role will be reduced a bit, as it appears the network is trying to work in some new former players into the color role.

Remy will work at least 100 of the 162 games with his new partner Dave O'Brien, but NESN is trying something new this season.  In select games, NESN will have a 3 man booth with former Red Sox closer Dennis Eckersley and former Red Sox third baseman Steve Lyons.  Remy, of course, played baseball for Somerset High School.  He's been calling Red Sox games for 28 years.  According to The Boston Globe, Remy calls his job "the best job in the world of broadcasting."
