Indoor Water Park Rumored to be Coming to Bourne

An indoor water park and hotel developer could be eyeing a spot near the Bourne Rotary for a potential location.

The 152 acre property is located near the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School in an area which was once set to be the Canalside Commons. While nothing has been confirmed by the town and no papers have been officially filed, there will be a meeting in early February regarding the zoning of the property.

The space was originally purchased by Stop & Shop in 2013 but has been vacant since the purchase with no known plans from the supermarket giant for development.

While there is no confirmation on the potential developers, sources told Southcoast Today that it could be Kalahari Resorts. Kalahari Resorts recently started building a 1,000 room hotel with indoor water park in the Pocono Mountains.

If an indoor water park does come to Bourne location, it would join the water parks set to be built in Hyannis and Rhode Island.
